...and that's a wrap on Theory Wine Bar + Listening Room
We wanted to let all of you know that, in spite of our best efforts, Theory is officially permanently closed - we will not be reopening. The fact that this came about so quickly has been a painful shock to us. The decision to close our doors was difficult, as we put everything that we had and are into bringing our dream of Theory to life.
A number of factors played into the overall situation - some under our control; others not. We apologize for our part in this - we were new to the industry and certainly made mistakes. As to the other issues, we have to cut our losses and accept what is. Lessons learned; no regrets. (Well, maybe a couple...)

- To the incredibly talented musicians who performed on our stage: we were humbled and honored to have you in our house, and hope that the Greater Boston and North Shore live music scenes continue to thrive.
- To our 'Townies': we appreciate your enthusiasm for what we tried to create on Main Street with Theory. We encourage you to support other small, locally owned Andover, Lawrence and North Andover businesses -- local businesses are owned and operated by your neighbors! They care about and are invested in the welfare of our community and its future.
- To the best little family of employees that we ever could have asked for (Beth, Brian, Colin, Brendan, Kristen, Ethan & Ivan): we appreciate you, your hard work and dedication, and wish you all deepest well-being and happiness.
- To our family and friends: we love you and thank you for everything.
We'll sign off now -- time to tidy things up and figure out where the winds will take us next. You can still explore with us though — go out and experience some live music — and dare yourself to try wine varietals & wine-making regions that are new to you!

Grand Opening Update
December 11, 2018
We wanted to give everyone an update as to Theory's opening. Due to some unforeseen construction hiccups, we have to delay our official opening until just after Christmas.
We will, however, be holding a soft opening just before the holiday: Sat, 12/22 (4pm-11pm). This will be to allow our brand new staff and us to 'practice' full service, with our patrons kindly understanding that we'll be working out the kinks and getting used to our brand new digs!
We would love for you to stop by, enjoy some wine, listen to some live jazz, and celebrate this milestone with us -- it's been a long journey!
As a thank you to the Town of Andover, and to all of you for your patience and support, we will be donating a portion of our total soft opening sales to the Andover Community Trust!

We are nowhere near to opening our doors yet, but wanted to express our feelings about this... Chris and I have loved the performances we've experienced at ONCE Ballroom -- an intimate, friendly space, and always with great service. As a (soon-to-be) locally owned live music venue in the North of Boston community, places like ONCE have inspired us to go forward with our vision. Sure, you will probably only be able see certain performers at the Garden or Gillette Stadium, but the small, independent venues lend themselves to a special kind of experiential magic...
We are (digitally) more connected than we've ever been -- which is truly amazing! We all sense that certain impersonal disconnect that accompanies it, however... Which is why we feel it more important than ever to build community and friendship in and around these intimate, creative, passion-driven settings.

We were anticipating having to install a state-of-the-art sound system, but it appears we’re all set! Seriously though, after doing stage/sound design & ambiance research last night, we're looking forward to working with Parsons Audio and Holt Hill Audio -- both locally owned -- to help us provide the ultimate listening and performance experience possible at Theory.

Hello! We want to thank everyone for the incredible reception we're receiving for our little endeavor! We finalized the lease and got the keys to our space this week! There is much work to be done... We have an excellent architecture/design team, and we'll be quite busy for the next little while with the build-out and finalizing our menu selections. We're hoping to be open by November 2018.
